About Angella
ADHD coach. Late diagnosis. Founder. Citizen of the world.
Origin Story
I spent sixteen years in London building a career that looked, from the outside, like exactly what it was: successful. Long hours, high standards, and a very well-developed ability to make things work regardless of what was happening underneath.
After launching 3 different companies I co-founded WERKIN, a career acceleration platform for neurodivergent and diverse professionals, because I understood something important before I fully understood it about myself: that the people doing the most interesting, most valuable work were often the ones the traditional career ladder was designed to obstruct.
My ADHD diagnosis came when someone I love was diagnosed. That moment has a specific texture that many of you will recognise: the sudden clarity, the relief, the grief, and the particular quality of looking back at a whole life through a completely different lens.
I had been very good at coping. I was much less good at understanding what it was I was coping with, and why some things cost so much more than they seemed to for everyone else.
I'm now based in Lisbon, coaching clients globally. I've lived in Australia, spent sixteen years in London, three in Hong Kong, and landed, for now, in Portugal. The work I do is the work I needed when I was building and exhausted and not yet able to name why. That's the whole reason this practice exists.
Why Coaching — Not Therapy
ADHD coaching is not therapy, and it doesn't try to be. I'm not a psychologist or a therapist, and sessions with me are not a substitute for clinical support. Coaching works with the present to build the future. It's concerned with understanding how you work, building systems that fit your brain, and making real progress on the things that matter to you.
If you're in a place where therapeutic support would be beneficial, I'll say so clearly, not vaguely and I keep a trusted network of professionals I can point you toward. Many clients work with me alongside a therapist. Working with me instead of a therapist, when therapy is what's actually needed, is not something I'll quietly go along with.
My Approach
Strengths first
I start from the assumption that you are already capable. My job is not to fix you. You don't need fixing. It's to help you understand the specific ways your brain works, so you can build around them rather than constantly working against them. The frameworks that work for neurotypical people often don't work for ADHD brains. That's not a failing, it's just the wrong tool for the job.
Whole-person
ADHD doesn't stop at the edges of your work life or your home life. The way your brain handles energy, relationships, time, and decision-making bleeds across everything. I coach the whole person and I keep a network of specialists (nutritionists, personal trainers, sleep specialists) for the moments when coaching is one part of a larger picture.
Honest
I will tell you the truth. Not harshly, but clearly. You've probably spent years in environments where feedback was softened until it was meaningless, or where your most honest assessments of situations were second-guessed. That's not how I work. I'll ask you things you may not have asked yourself. I'll reflect back what I hear, including the parts you haven't named. And if something you're doing isn't working, I'll say so, with warmth, but without ambiguity.
Coaching Philosophy & Ethical Standards
I work within the ICF Code of Ethics. That means confidentiality is absolute, with the limited exceptions required by law in Portugal and wherever my clients are based. It means I don't coach beyond my scope: if what you need is clinical support, I'll tell you and refer accordingly. It means sessions are client-led. You set the agenda, and I hold your goals as primary, not my idea of what your goals should be.
I use Fireflies AI for session transcription, which I disclose to every client before we begin. I hold a written coaching agreement that sets out the terms of our work, not as a legal formality, but as a clear statement of what you can expect, and what I ask in return.
